Why is fitness so important for kids today? Most people have heard the commercials or seen the posters that are trying to get kids to exercise more. Why is this so vital to their health?

Fitness in kids seems to be one of the "hot topics" today. More kids are sitting in front of a television or playing computer games and not getting any exercise at all. This sedentary lifestyle, coupled with the high amount of processed foods that are consumed, is having a horrible effect on children.

Since children are still growing, it is even more important for them to have the proper nutrients and exercise to be healthy. If the body does not receive the activity it requires then it is unable to grow and develop properly. If kids study the five components of physical fitness and try to improve in each category, they are sure to have great health.

For kids exercise can be turned into something that isn't hard at all. A lot of kids don't look at sports and games as exercise. With this in mind, all parents need to do is come up with some games or places to play sports with their kids. Not only does this get you both out exercising, it also helps you to bond with your children. Instead of just watching TV next to them you are learning things about them and having fun with them!
