Motivating Kids to Exercise

Have you ever asked yourself what can I do to get my child to get up off the couch and do some exercise instead of watching television all day long? If you have you’re not the only one who has thought of that, and there’s a lot of things you can do to motivate your children to exercise.

One thing you can do to motivate them is to enroll him/her in a sport, but it has to be something that he/she is interested in. If you put him/her in something that you want to but they don’t it gets boring for them because they are not having fun. Try going for walks with them, because when you join them on their exercise they like it because their spending time with you. Instead of playing video games that have no activity involved, try to buy them a game that requires doing something like dancing, batting, boxing, or even yoga. Everything that they do they have to do it according to their age because if you put an eight year old to do what a 14 year old is doing or vise versa they will not benefit. Playing outside with their friends also keeps them active and that way they are having fun and being active at the same time.

Remember that keeping your kids active not only helps them physically, but also it helps them to decease their chances of getting type 2 diabetes and they also sleep better.
