Self Discipline And Exercise

It takes self discipline to exercise. It sounds simple enough, until you try it out; that is when you fully understand and realize what it takes to work out.

If you have ever made a New Year’s resolution to exercise, then the result is probably predictable. In most cases, you started out enthusiastic, but usually within a few weeks, you were done. You should put together a game plan and be realistic about your goals, planning an effective way to achieve them. You are human, so don’t be so hard on yourself if you missed a day. If you can start the day by getting up and out of bed, you are off to a good start. Then, you should try to keep a positive attitude about going to work, eating healthy, and working at self improvement.

When you have disciplined your mind, it is time to work on your body. Pick a single goal and be specific, do it, and the next ones will be easier; this is the first step. Write your goal down daily, like “I will walk for 30 minutes,” and remind yourself to do it. Make your goal about three to four weeks to achieve and get your routine going and plan accordingly. If you know of other people with similar goals, try to get together and schedule it as part of your day.

Once you have met your original goal, it is time to add another to your program. Once you are into a regular routine, you begin to look forward to doing it.
