Exercises for Teenagers

The kids these days need to exercise a little bit more. There are more overweight teens that eventually turn into overweight adults than ever before. They suffer from things like heart disease, diabetes, gout, and arthritis. The death rate from these teens being overweight is very high. A lot of the teens today watch too much TV and do not work out enough. Their parents should step in and make their children follow guidelines to make them exercise.

There are a lot of teens who enjoy aerobic exercises. They include things like running, in-line skating, cycling, swimming, power or race walking, tennis, full-court basketball, aerobic dancing and kick boxing. There are a few more things like hockey, soccer, rowing, cross country skiing, and jumping rope. There are exercises that kids can do by them selves like ice skating and trampoline. You have to make sure that you warm up and cool down. Exercises should never hurt you, even though your muscles may be sore.

Your teens should try to exercise at least three times a week for about an hour a day. You can always include things like walking or running as something they can do as a family. They can always chase their sibling as a form of exercise. There are exercises that help to build muscle strength. You can have them climb a tree or just have them play on the playground. These are things that they can do and not realize the exercise that they are getting. A lot of teenagers think they have to have big muscle, but that is not the case. Regular exercise will do wonders.
