Making fitness a part of your daily routine is important. There are ways to make this easier then it seems. One way to do this is to set aside a half hour every morning or night. If you already have an early morning, do it in the evening. If your nights are hectic and busy, wake up a little bit earlier. You don’t have to do it everyday, but three to four days a week is recommended. You can even have the whole family go on walks with you. You can ask the neighbor to walk with you around the block a few times, or take a walk with your dog.
Another way to make fitness a part of your daily routine is to always park your car in the back of the parking lot. No matter how cold it is outside, or how much of a hurry you are in, park the furthest away from the door. If you do a lot of errands and shopping, the extra steps will add up. Instead of taking elevators, take the stairs. Just like the extra steps you have to take when parking far away, every extra step you take up a stair helps. Walking on the treadmill while watching TV is better than sitting on the couch and doing the same. It is little change ups like these that can be the most help.
The best thing to do is stick to your routine. Sit down and write out a schedule, and schedule time in to exercise. Post it where you can see it and keep track of it every day. Many times, people make excuses and think that they do not have time to work out. But if you make the time, you will have the time.
