Your Health is Your Responsibility

Taking care of your health is an important responsibility. The best way to get started is to think of exercise as fun. If you start out with the wrong attitude you won’t stick to it. Set a goal, but make it realistic. Once you have reached that goal you will be motivated to keep going.

Having someone to buddy up with can be helpful, this makes you more accountable and it also makes it seem more like a social event rather than a chore.

You can start right at home with little to no expense. The market is full of exercise videos that will target any type of exercise you want to do. There are some fun videos, like Richard Simmon’s “Sweating to the Oldies.” It is a fun dance video that the whole family can get involved in. There are also some faith based videos, like Leslie Samson’s Fit with Faith, which also comes with a book on diet and motivational stories.

If you want to spend more money you can purchase exercise equipment, and the gym is also another option. Today there is no excuse not to exercise or eat right, the shelves are filled with books and videos. Still 2 in 3 people in the United States are overweight.

Don’t wait, start now. It is as simple as parking your car further away from the store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Get yourself a video put it in, and don’t just sit on the couch and watch it; get moving.
